The Chicago Cubs were undertaking a major renovation of their historic ballpark, Wrigley Field. Called The 1060 Project, the plan included the construction of “the best clubhouse in baseball,” as the Cubs referred to it.
The Audacy team took part in, and won, a competitive bid to install the lighting controls in the new clubhouse.
While the Chicago Cubs engineering team considered many options for lighting controls, they ultimately chose the Audacy System for several reasons.
Performance The Audacy System allows the Chicago Cubs to customize lighting “scenes” to help promote player comfort and performance. It also gives them vacancy and occupancy options and can be controlled from a single tablet or phone.
Ease of installation The Audacy System installs in a fraction of the time it takes to install a traditional system. No wires need to be run between the switches and the fixtures.
Energy savings The Audacy System can cut energy usage by up to 60%.
Service and training The Audacy team worked closely with the Chicago Cubs engineering team, to not just make sure they fully understood the system, but knew how to make changes to it to suit future needs.
The Chicago Cubs have been so pleased with the Audacy System’s performance, they installed it in the stadium’s premier level suites as well as their new, six-story office building next door to the ballpark.
That’s how the Audacy System, part of 103-year-old IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC., helped preserve and update a 105-year-old stadium.
